The Organic Pedagogical Electronic Network, or OPEN, is a new model for disseminating the cutting edge research being performed in the Center in an educational format for the scientific community and beyond.
The CCHF is performing research that has the potential to redefine the way scientists think about the construction of organic molecules. With OPEN we hope to effect a similar change in the way organic chemistry is taught and presented.
Instead of textbooks and flash cards the CCHF community is building online digital tools and resources to streamline the incorporation of new advances and discoveries into science education, facilitating the movement of C–H Functionalization into the mainstream of organic chemistry.
