CCHF Members Participate in STEM Symposium at Emory

10/2017

For the fourth year in a row, the CCHF participated in a targeted recruitment event organized by the Emory Laney Graduate School, the STEM Research and Career Symposium. The symposium brought in diverse faculty advisors and their students to the Atlanta region, and in particular at Emory, for two days. During the symposium participants shared research presentations and engaged in networking. The participants included undergraduates who were looking for summer research experiences, graduate and medical school opportunities.

The Center Director of Education, Outreach and Diversity, Lloyd Munjanja, participated in a number of events at the Emory STEM Symposium so that he could connect with prospective students. He gave a presentation to a group of visiting undergraduate students about the Center Chemistry Summer Undergraduate Research Program (CSURP).

Center members from Davies Group participated in a luncheon in which they connected with a number of students who were curious about chemical research at Emory.
