The Atlanta Science Tavern has been organizing interesting and engaging events around the science being performed in the Atlanta region for the past decade. The Tavern has built up a following of those interested and excited about science, from current undergraduates to retired professionals. This May Daniel Morton, Managing Director of the CCHF, presented a talk entitled "Transforming organic chemistry to build a cleaner, more sustainable world", that introduced C–H functionalization and many concepts associated with this field of chemistry, including catalysis, selectivity and theoretical chemistry.

The audience of over 100 received the talk well, with many questions afterwards, and many going away excited by the idea of C–H functionalization as a sustainable technology for the synthesis of organic molecules.

The CCHF looks forward to building a lasting connection with the Atlanta Science Tavern and extending this message across the country.
