Laura Fritts, J.D.. Director, Patent and License Strategy and Chief IP Officer at Emory University delivered a talk entitled "I have an Idea! What every chemist should know about invention disclosure, non-disclosure, and intellectual property".

This talk was designed to provide a starting point for students and researchers to think about what you should do when you discover something new. Should it automatically be considered for a publication, what happens if you think that it can be something more. Talking about how to take that first step and also the kind of challenges and rewards that you might encounter during the process of taking an idea from the lab to the market Laura provided a prospective from the IP point of view.
